Rocky slopes below the cliffs. Subtropical deciduous forest with Ficus, Bursera, Vitex. Abundant on rocks and cliffs.

Description
Tree to 10m high, 45-50cm DBH; sap with marked odor of turpentine, copiously exuded; trunk red, peeling brownish red; leaves turning red.
