Stems clustered, 4 m tall, 4 cm diameter, brown. Leaves 11; sheaths 25 cm long with 20 cm long ocreas; petioles 132 cm long, spiny on the lower two thirds; blades 85 cm across, split into 28 segments, the middle one petiolulate. Monoecious palm, the inflo.
