    Open Ponderosa pine savanna over deep sandy soil derived from Navajo Sandstone overlying sandstone bedrock, understory of Quercus gambelii, Artemisia tridentata, Eriogonum umbelltum, E. racemosum, Festuca octoflora, Juniperus osteosperma, Poa fendleriana, Poa secunds, & Arctostaphylos patula.
