Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Unsure of the precise location of the "headquarters" stated in the locality description; instead, georeferenced to the approximate geographic center of Rio Cabo Sobral within mountainous area of Serra de Tepequém in Mun. Amajari, Roraima. Used Google Maps - Earth and Terrain View to locate Rio Cabo Sobral within the mountainous region (determined using the Terrain View). Used the Google Maps - Measure Distance Tool to measure a straight line between the beginning and end of the segment of Rio Cabo Sobral within the Serra de Tepequém region then halved this distance to find the midpoint of the line. Chose a point along the river nearest to the midpoint of the line; used Google Maps - What's Here Tool to find the coordinates, on the adjacent shore (collection assumed to be terrestrial). Used the Google Maps - Measure Distance Tool again to find the linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the river within the mountainous region. Input coordinates, linear extent (5480.0 m), and measurement error (50 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
