Non-flooded moist forest, ca. 50-125 m elev.
Tree 15 m tall, 29 cm dbh. Bole fluted with
vertical oval slits. Not buttressed. Outer bark
scaly, soft, medium brown; inner bark hard,
laminated, pale yellow. Sapwood orange. Exudate
a white sticky latex from cut twigs, but
nothing from slash. Leaves sericeous below.
Flowers greyish. N.V. quariquara branca.
