    Spores 9.6-3.2µm, smooth, cap 8-45 mm dia, red, velvety, not viscid, when cracked show pale ylw of flsh. Phenology of specimen: Basidiomata.

    flsh turning more or less blue when cut but fading to sordid. Tubes 5-8mm long, depressed around stipe and somewhat decurrent, turning bluish where touched but fading to sordid, bright yellow when young becoming soewhat olivaceous, stipe ylw but reddish toward base, smooth to striate especially toward pileus & often minute grammulations at apex... see inside box for more...
