Precipitous mountainside, tall wet mixed forest of firs and deciduous trees.

Description
rays whiite, disk yellow; Arbol: Tree; 10 m high, 15-20 cm. DBH; mostly seen as very vigorous second-growth treelets 4-5 m high with leaves up to 50 cm across, branchlets and herbage with strong helianthoid odor.
