  • Description

    Shrub. 1.5-2.0 m tall Stem unbrqnched, basally glabrescent, apically oubescent. Abaxial leaf surface uniformly green to green with reddish tinge. Inflorescence axillary; usually below lead portion of stem. Peduncle thick, 103 cm long. Pedicels, calyx lobes and bracts dark purple. Corolla light red and tubular. Bracts occasionally covering pedicels and calyx lobes. Fruit a bivalved fleshy capsule. Photographs of this colelction are in the Gesneriaceae photo file (US). Phenology of specimen: Flower.
