    Steep north facing 34 degree slope of rocky rhyolite and obsidian cobbles, with pumice alluvium, near large stratified obsidian outcrops, shady dry Pinus contorta forest with P.flexilis, Holodiscus microphylla Leptosiphon nuttallii, Erioigonum umbellatum, Ericameria suffruticosa, Selaginella watsonii, uncommon, widely scattered individuals around north facing outcrops, basal clumps 1 dm across.
