Host stems. Letter (4 Nov 1933) from L.R. Tehon, Illinois Natural History Survey, to F.J. Seaver NY: " . . . I found it impossible to get complete information out of Earle's type material because the fruiting bodies appear to have been parasitized by a species or Penicillium . . . ." Unattributed reprint describing specimen and referencing annotation by Tehon. Three slides in packets 914483, 914484, 914485.

Note: Annot. by Peter R. Johnston: "A Terriera species." . . . Confirmed in an email from Peter Johnston, PDD, 11 Mar 2008: "Both of the Alabama Biological Survey specimens are syntypes of Lophodermium rubiicolum. Someone at some stage should select one as the lectotype. The fungus is not a Lophodermium, but a Terriera. Again one day someone should provide a formal recombination."Terriera B.Erikss. det P. R.
