  • Georeferencing Method

Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to the approximate geographic center of the shore of the city of Atalaia do Norte along Rio Javari (synonymous with Rio Yavari) in Amazonas, ensuring that the uncertainty radius encompassed the length of Rio Javari within the entire area considered to be Atalaia do Norte (município). Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located the city of Atalaia do Norte. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the approximate geographic center of the shore of the city along Rio Javari. Used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to find the linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of Rio Javari within município Atalaia do Norte. Used linear extent as the uncertainty radius. Rio Javari runs along the Brazilian-Peruvian boundary; the coordinates are located within Brazil.
