  • Description

    Stems clustered, 4 m tall, 2.5 cm diam, with spines at the nodes. Leaves 7; sheath 26 cm long, continuing for 20 cm above petiole, sheath with short, dark spines 1.5 cm long, but younger shoots have strongly flattened spines on sheath and peti.
