    Perennial from a fleshy taproot; herbage and fruits densely hirtellous-puberulent; calyx obsolete; petals greenish-purple (sometimes yellowish), ciliolate; anthers bright yellow, forming the bulk of the floral display. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
