Habitat
Secondary woods and glade on rock outcrop, dominated by Rhus typhina, Sassafras albidum and Ailanthus altissima.

Description
Shrub, the stems horizontal and some climbing or reclining up to 1.5 m, some are dark red, some are green, terete, neither sulcate nor angled, the prickles rather sparse, no bristles; sterile leaf abaxials light green, not glaucous; fertile leaf abaxials subglaucous; fruit blackberry type, many red, some turning black, not sweet. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
