Dominican Republic. Barahona. Monteada Nueva Region (peak is Loma Trocha de Pey), along El Limo Rd., which is a small road branching off road to the silica mine; ca. 1.2 km down road from old silica mine.

Habitat
Disturbed to only slightly disturbed cloud forest. With Vaccinium racemosum, Miconia howardiana, M. subcompressa, Sagraea gracilis, Leandra limoides, Lyonia stahlii, Hedyosmum domingensis and other typical cloud forest species. Common.

Description
Shrub to 1.5 m tall, with a rounded, compact growth form. Flowers with petals pink, with anthers white. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
