  • Habitat

    Compost facility surrounded by fallow ground of spontaneous, native and exotic woody and herbaceous plants. The ground not particularly wet here.

  • Description

    Herb, erect, ca 20 cm tall; leaf blades chalky tasting, not peppery, the adaxials with a dark patch in the center; flowers pinkish. There is a large patch of Persicaria here. The plants get progressively taller toward the "back" where they are competing with other, taller species, including young shrubs and trees. And they get progressively shorter toward the "front" where they are driven over by large machines and periodically sprayed with herbicides and mowed. They are intermediate in the middle of the patch. This plant came from the "front". Atha 8093 from the middle of the patch, Atha 8094 from further back and Atha 8095 from the back edge.
