  • Georeferencing Method

    Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Using Google Maps, located Manaus-Boa Vista Road (BR-174). Referring to previous georeferences, found that in order to reach latitude of 0 degrees (equator) needed to find coordinates north of BR-174 in Manaus. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to check coordinates north along BR-174 until latitude was approximately 0 degrees. Once located that proper location along BR-174, found coordinates. Used measurement tool (Google Maps) to find linear extent of Manaus. Input coordinates, linear extent (14317.95 m.), and measurement error (.01 m.) into the MaNIS Georeferncing Calculator to calculate the uncertainty radius (according to Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Named Place, Undefined Area).
