Habitat
Moist montane forest (in ravines and some slopes) or moist Pinus occidentalis forest (on ridges and some slopes). Plants of moist montane forest, not along rivers or in pine forest (as the related Miconia sp. nov.). Occ. [Occasional].

Description
Shrub to 3.5 m tall; flower buds white; bracts green; shade lvs. flat, 1- & 2-order veins impressed; sun lvs. also with tertiary veins impressed, and blade sl. abaxially curled. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
