    Dominican Republic. Barahona. Monteada Nueva Region (peak is Loma Trocha de Pey), along El Limo Rd., which is a small road branching off road to the silica mine; ca. 1.2 km down road from old silica mine.

  • Habitat

    Disturbed to only slightly disturbed cloud forest. With Miconia howardiana, M. subcompressa, Sagraea gracilis, Leandra limoides, Lyonia stahlii, Marcgravia rubra, Hedyosmum domingensis and other typical cloud forest species. Rare.

  • Description

    Shrub to 1 m tall; leaves greenish, with red veins abaxially. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
