    Terrestrial, ca. 1 m tall; trunk to 8 cm diam. with reddish brown petiole bases persisting; petioles spongy, obtusely flattened adaxially with medial rib, medium green, matte; blades moderately thin, dark green, semiglossy above, moderately paler and weakly glossy below; midrib obtusely sunken and concolorous above, round-raised and concolorous below; primary lateral veins weakly raised in valleys and concolorous above, thickly raised and concolorous below; tertiary veins fine, moderately distinct, not much raised below.
