    Dominican Republic. La Vega. Cordillera Central, in Reserva Cientifica Valle Nuevo, N of Villa Pajon; ca. 21.4 km S of Constanza on road to Valle Nuevo and San Jose de Ocoa, 3 km S of Forestry House near park boundary.

  • Habitat

    Roadside along E-facing slope (pine forest nearby). With Tetrazygia urbaniana, Miconia krugii, Gaultheria domingensis, Garry fadyenii, Fuchsia triphylla, Pteridium, Galium domingense, Sisyrinchium, Rubus spp., Verbena, Lobelia rotundifolia, Ilex, Isachne rigidifolia, Carex, Pellaea, Scrophularia eggersii. Very common.

  • Description

    Shrub, here to 0.5 m, but at higher elevations plants reach ca. 2.5 m in height; flowers with white petals and yellow anthers. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
