Habitat
Native forest in gorge along Bronx River. Fagus grandifolia becoming dominant here.

Description
Large colony of hundreds of upright stems, none more than 50 cm tall; leaves with faint purple coloring at adaxial base and along the veins; flowers reddish basally, apical.
