United States of America. New York. Bronx Co. The New York Botanical Garden, Northern section of the Garden, E of the Bronx River and S of Kazimiroff Blvd.

Habitat

Native forest in gorge along Bronx River. Fagus grandifolia becoming dominant here.

Description

Large colony of hundreds of upright stems, none more than 50 cm tall; leaves with faint purple coloring at adaxial base and along the veins; flowers reddish basally, apical.
