Plants collected from peak to ca. 1700 m (but seen down to ca. 1200 m). Moist montane forest dominated by Coccoloba, Podocarpus, Garrya, Miconia, Baccharis, Palicouria, Psychotria, Bumelia, Ocotea, Persea, Vaccinium, Myrsine, Symplocos, Cordia, Sapium, Ternstroemia, Cestrum, Didymopanax, Weinmannia, Brunellia, Ilex. Occasional.

Description
Shrub to 1.7 m tall. Plants near peak are more pubescent than those of lower elevations. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
