    Dominican Republic. Monseñor Nouel. Cordillera Central, SE of Bonao, Falcombridge Dominicana mine property (Loma Pequera area), at top of Loma Larga.

  • Habitat

    Open forest of Pinus occidentalis on serpentine substrate. Small segment of natural forest at edge of area destroyed by mining operations; some nearby areas replanted with Casuarina and Cynodon. Occasional. Soil is lateritic with 2% nickel and 20% iron.

    Shrub 1.5 m tall; flowers white; leaves falcate. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
