Habitat
Tropical dry forest, secondary. Sympatric with several species of trees endemic to the coastal dry forests of Ecuador, as: Eugenia churutensis (Myrtaceae), Acanthocladus guayaquilensis (Polygalaceae), Rinorea deflexa (Violaceae), etc. Infrequent.

Description
Treelet 4 m tall. Leaves spirally, with scarce white latex from branches and fruits. Fruits greenish, tomentose, wider than long, ca. 1 cm in diam. nearly to maturity, containing 2 seeds, the embryo compact. calyx persistent, sepals 5. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
