    In understory of disturbed forest remnant. With Peltophorum dubium, Opuntia brasiliensis, Rhipsalis, Tillandsia usneoides and many Rutaceae. Common.

  • Description

    Trees 0.5-2 m tall, diffusely branched. Leaves dark green above, with whitish midrib when mature, paler green below with darker green venation. Inflorescence rachis green with dark red tinge, pedicels, calyx, and corolla fuchsia. Corolla becoming paler after anthesis. Stamens, staminodes, fand style white. Number of fertile stamens sometimes less than 5. Common. Some inflorescences cauline. [etOH, DNA, fixed buds.].
