Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Referred to a topographic map of Serra do Araçá: DMA Aerospace Center. Serra do Araçá, Brazil [map]. 1:250,000. St. Louis, MO.: DMA Aerospace Center, 1994 (provided by the University of Texas website, http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/jog/latin_america/txu-oclc-224388740-na20-14.jpg) and a aerial photograph of Serra Araçá provided by "Skyscraper City" website (http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i406/fredsonsantiago2011/Barcelos%20-serra%20do%20Araca%20e%20rios%20da%20regiao/Barcelos4-SerradoArac9.jpg) to locate area of Serra Araçá. Using the reference material and Google Maps, located Serra Araçá in Barcelos, AM. Used distance measurement tool (Google Maps) to measure the total extent of Serra Araçá; halved this distance to approximate the location of the geographic center of the mountain. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the geographic center. Used linear extent, distance from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of Serra Araçá, as the uncertainty radius.
