Sfio Paulo: Estapao Biologica do Alto da Serra. Clump
caespitose. Rhizome promptly determinate. Culm about 10
m tall and 3 cm in diam., apparently ascending and broad-
ly arched with a long, pendulous or acandent tip. Inter-
nodes very long, the longest exceeding 1 m, cylindrical,
the lowest ones pubescent, the middle ones glabrous and
smooth, the upper ones retrorsely scabrous. Host of a
black-fruited, apparently parasitic, fungus a single
colony of which was found at the node of a young culm cut
while green and dried promptly.
