Description

Teres6polis, Parque Nacional da Serra dos Org&os, road from the Administration to the Barragem, close to the Barragem, 1240 m. 42°58'W, 22°27'S. Atlantic forest, growing with 676 and 677. Culms to 2 cm diam., to 5-6 m long, erect at base, arching over above. Vegetative, new shoots present. Internodes 46, 55, 37 cm long; young ones downy, the fuzz wearing off with age; a band of white pubescence ca. 0.5-1 cm wide occurs just below each node. Culm leaves not reaching the next node; young ones abaxially downy. This species extremely common higher up along the trail to Pedra do Sino, seen as high as 1600 m.
