Abundant throughout the forest, forming dense clumps. Climbing bamboo up to 15 m tall. Gulms 1.5 cm in diameter, filled with soft pith; in small branches hollow. Culms green, mottled purple, asperous, with retrorse hairs. Culm sheath very long, narrow, triangular with small, triangular, deciduous blade. Cleofé E. Calderon & R. S.
