Very abundant in open type of forest on gentle slopes. large
bamboo up to 15 m tall leaning over vegetation. Culms hol-
low, very strong,'2-2.5 cm in dia., surface asperous. Inter-
nodes elongated, ca. 57-95 cm long. Several thick branches
from each node, usually 6. Culm leaves thick, with reflexed
blade, all deciduous.
