Mun. de Jequie, 28 km N of road Ipiau-Jeqruie, on road to
Apuarema-Jaguaquara, Fas. Sao Joao, Elev. 750 m, Top of
hilly region with dense forest of thin trees with many
palms, very large epiphyte Bromeliaceae and ‘bamboo. This
one very abundant, forming large clumps. Delicate bamboo,
ca. 8 m tall, the culms about 1-1.2 cm in diam, with
very thin walls. Surface very smooth, bright green,
covered with white bloom, nodes not prominent. Culm
leaves with reflexed blade, caducous * Foliage leaves
with long, white very curly oral setae.
