Mun. de Jaguaquara: Riacho de Ouro: 22 km S.E. of Jaguaquara City. ca. 13°38'S 39° 52 'W. Alt. 625 m. Large, tall bamboo up to 20 m tall, overarching vege- tation, growing in small clumps. Culms hollow, very strong, U.5-5 cm in diameter; smooth, dark green color, covered by a white powder in the upper part of the in- ,ternode. Internodes long, ca. 65-80 cm. Culms sheaths deciduous, very large, narrow, rounded at the tip; smooth and glabrous outside, inside shiny, glossy brown. Blade of culm leaves very soon deciduous, reflexed. Branch complement of many branches. Branches of young culms with very small leaf complement, blades short, wide, lanceolate. Leaf of older branches with long, narrow lanceolate blades. Blades of leaves very thin. This bamboo grows in association with Atractantha sp. (C.E.C. R.S.P. 2256). tiufl Ji. ( ilderun K R. S.
