Description
Tree ca 9 m tall, 12 cm dbh; bark grayish brown, somewhat thick, forming numerous, roundish plates, each 1-3 cm diam; branching sympodial, the twigs distinctive curving upward; leaves just emerging, grayish when very young; pedicels pinkish; floral bracts white, the emarginate apices maroon, forming a maroon line abaxially toward the base; flowers green, becoming yellow.
