Habitat
Thorn-scrub ("Carrasco") formation of densely branched, closely spaced shrubs with rigid, sharp-tipped branches.

Description
Shrub 4 m tall with one to several trunks. Bark dark greyish brown. Branches mainly in upper part of stem, branching in 3-dimensions to form dense mass of stiff-tipped branchlets, sharp to the touch. Newly emerging leaves resulting from recent rains, light yellowish green. Flower buds yellowish green. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
