  • Description

    Pileus 8.2 cm in dia., subcampanulate when fully expanded, pure white exept for the center it is light grayish-brown (seems to change to that color upon injury very, very slowly), viscid when moist, glabrous; gills adnate, not broad (broader in center, tapering at ends), subentricose, crowded, white floccose; stem pure white, 10 cm long, 0.8 cm wide at the thinnest, 1.2 cm at the thickest, slender, tapering upward, floccose, scaly; bulb oval, embedded in ground (2 cm or more); annulus membranous, persistent, pendant white; volva firm, thick below, tapering upward toward lobed margin, which is apressed to stem; spores pallid or colorless by transmitted light, spherical-ovate, 11.1 by 7.4 mu, apiculate, 2 borne on basidium which is 23.8 mu in length. Phenology of specimen: Basidiomata.
