Habitat
Campo cerrado on upland (or occasionally forest). Open marsh or dense secondary forest along streams. This habitat: slightly degraded campo cerrado. Shrubs & small tree twisted by former fires, forming an open thicket. Ground cover of grasses & herbs. Soil poor, light reddish-brown fine sand with a little clay.

Description
0.5 m. tall, many stems from ground. Berries oblate spheroidal, ca. 6 mm. diam., black with slight powdery bloom. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
