Submontane forest. Quercus oocarpa dominant with another Quercus sp. On soil.

Description
Gregarious. Pileus 1-4 cm broad, convex, becoming plane, then uplifted and depressed on the disc, dry, matted tomentose, subsulcate at margin, orange (5A7-6) on the disc, yellow (4A7) toward margin. Flesh white, unchanging, with mild odor and faintly acrid taste, up to 5 mm thick. Lamellae adnate, close, white at first, eventually ochre (4A4), with even margins and lamellulae not evident. Stipe 2.4-3.5 cm long, 1 cm broad, equal and tapered at the base, concolorous with pileus, the yellow colors above and the orange colors toward the base, under a lens these colors appearing to overlay a white ground above; interior white unchanging, becoming somewhat chambered to hollow. Basidiospores cream ochre (4A3-4A2) in deposit. Phenology of specimen: Basidiomata.
