United States of America. California. Mono Co. Glass Mountain Region: Crestview area; hilltop appex 1 mile east-northeast from Crestview, dropping off sharply south to Deadman Creek.

Habitat
On 15° north-facing sandy slope below hilltop. Exposed windswept hilltop covered by Artemisia tridentata scrub surrounded by Pinus jefftyi forest on leeward slope. With Purshia tridentata, Grayia spinosa, Symphoricarpos rotundifolius, Ceanothus velutinus, Tetradymia canescens, Achnatherum hymenoides, Lupinus argenteus, Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus. Common. Decomposed pumice ashfall soil with occasional quartz lattie outcrops.
