Mata, somewhat altered- evidence of grazing and opening up to grasses on upper portion; pyroxenite substrate.

Description
Shrub to 2.5 m. Prominent, whitish lenticels on all branches. Fruits solitary on peduncles 6-7 cm. long, replacing a spine. Fruits globular, 2 cm diam., bright cherry-red, velvety. Styles persistent. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
