Stigonema hormoides var. simplex, Gardner, var.nov.

Filaments short, very crooked, sparsely branched,
13-16 y. diam.; cells aeruginous,coarse-granular, one
to two seriate, subspherical,to much compressed; sheath
hyaline, changing to brown with age.

Intermixed with other gelatinous Myxophyceae ,
together forming shapeless masses on rocks in a
ravine. Kushan, near Foochow, China. Chung, nos.

A363 , and A364, the former taken as the type, in
the Farlow Herbarium, Harvard University, Cambridge,
Mass.
