Apparently the nearest relative of Antithamnion simulans
is A. boreale f. corallina Ejell. The former is more robust
than the latter as the two species grovv on the ITorth American
coast. The former differs from the latter principally in the
presence of numerous gland cells and the long, slender, curved
branches always arising on the lower side of the geminate or
who rle d ramuli.
