  Bejuco trepador sobre otras plantas y sobre sí mismo que alcanza 24 pies de extensión. Posee hojas verde oscuro lustrosas, flores atractivas de color rosado intenso en ramilletes colgantes y raíces tuberosas. Produce abundante látex al cortarse. Es común en bosques húmedos de la Cordillera Central, Sierra de Luquillo y zona caliza húmeda. Está distribuido en algunas islas de las Antillas Menores. Creeping reed that grows on other plants and itself same and reaches twenty feet of extension. It has dark green leaves, bright attractive flowers of an intense pink color in hanging racemes, and tuber roots. It produces abundant latex when cut. It is common in humid forests of the Central Mountain range, the range of Luquillo, and the humid calcareous zone. It is distributed in some islands of the Lesser Antilles.
