Description
The flowers of this species are characterized by their large size, showy colors, and strong but pleasant aroma. Morphologically they are easty to recognize by their bracteole position just below the hypanthium; pedicel articulation subtended by a single bract; non imbricate calyx-lobes; androecium with fertile stamens in the staminal ring and fodder staminodes in the androecial hood; androecial hood not coiled; staminodes pink for most of length and yellow apically; white anthers; umbonate ovary summit; short style; 6-locular ovary; and placentae that run most of the length of the septum.
