Description
This species is characterized by a tuberculate hypathium; an open, flat, not expanded androecial hood; the absence of staminodes in the androecial hood; lateral flanges; sigmoid-shaped filaments; a style that curves toward the flower opening; and a lower septum that is modified to form a horizontally expanded placentae. The yellow anthers on the ligular side of the staminal ring probably represent antherodes.
