  Planta herbácea ramificada de flores rosadas o casi blancas sin pétalos en racimos y frutos rojos. Las hojas trituradas se han usado para curar heridas y contusiones. Es común en terrenos húmedos y baldíos en elevaciones bajas y medias en Puerto Rico. Está distribuida en las Antillas, Florida, Texas, América Tropical y trópicos del Viejo Mundo. Grafted herbaceous plant of pink or almost white flowers without petals in racemes and red fruits. The crushed leaves have been used to heal wounds and contusions. It is common in humid and uncultivated lands at low and medium elevations in Puerto Rico. It is distributed in the Antilles, Florida, Texas, Tropical America and the Tropics of the Old World.
