  Árbol siempre verde de 30 a 65 pies de alto y un pie de diámetro en el tronco. Se distingue por las ramas esbeltas, hojas con venación melastómica y flores blancas vistosas. Esta especie debe evaluarse por su potencial de uso ornamental. Es autóctono de los bosques bajos de la Sierra de Luquillo y Cordillera Central en Puerto Rico. Evergreen tree of 30 to 65 feet of stop and a foot of diameter in the trunk. It is distinguished by the svelte branches, leaves with melastomic venation, and attractive white flowers. The species should be evaluated to determine its potential for ornamental use. It is native of the low forests of the Mountain range of Luquillo and the Central Mountain range in Puerto Rico.
