  SEM of an adaxial veiw of a leaf blade surface (SEM - 500x) of Lecythis chartacea based on D. C. Daly 644 from Maranhão, Brazil. The cracks are artifacts of drying. The absence of stomates indicates that this is the adaxial surface.
