Description
Androecium of the actinomorphic-flowered Gustavia johnclarki based on J. L. Clark 10855 from Reserva Ecológica Mache-Chindul, Esmeraldas, Ecuador. The staminal tube of all species of Gustavia is thin and much wider than it is tall. The filaments are long and round in cross-section and this is the only genus of neotropical Lecythidaceae with poricidal anthers (not seen in this image). All parts except the androecium have been removed from this flower.
