  Flower with petals and androecium removed of Lecythis pisonis based on Mori & Huang 27295 from Amazonas, Brazil. Note the stylar collar and that the calyx-lobes are scarcely imbricate at their bases and are horizontally orientated. The blue dots are the result of oxidation of cynogenic compounds found in the leaves, flowers, and fruits of this species.
